Insert-welded carbide end mills
Welded carbide end mills are available in straight and helical tooth forms.
(1) Straight edge end mill When the inlaid carbide helical tooth end mill is used for machining cast iron, the insert material is YC6 or YG8, and YTI5 is used for machining steel, and the cutter body material is generally 9SiCr. According to the diameter, the welded straight edge carbide end mill has two structures: straight shank and taper shank, and Figure 5-19 and Fig. 5-20 are the structures of straight shank and taper shank end mills, respectively.
(2) Helical tooth end mill Welded carbide helical end mill is suitable for processing carbon structural steel and alloy tool steel. The structure is made of carbide helical tooth end mills such as ordinary straight shank, flattened straight shank, Morse taper shank, 7:24 taper shank, as shown in Figure 5-21, Figure 5-22, Figure 5-23.
