The geometry of the cylindrical cutter

Similar to the turning tool, it is composed of a coordinate plane and a measuring plane, and its basic coordinate plane has a base plane and a cutting plane. where the base face is a plane that selects a point through the cutting edge and contains the axis of the cutter and is assumed to be perpendicular to the main direction of motion. The cutting plane is a cylindrical cutting plane at the selected point of the cutting edge. The measuring plane has an end profile, and the helical tooth milling cutter also has a method profile. The geometric angle of the cylindrical milling cutter is shown in Figure 5-2.

Figure 5-2 Geometric angle of cylindrical milling cutter

(1) Front angle y. The angle between the front and the base face measured at the selected point on the cutting edge on the end profile.

(2) Rear corner a. The angle between the back and the cutting plane measured on the end profile of the selected point on the cutting edge.
Both the rake and rear angles are marked on the end profile. If it is a helical tooth, it is necessary to mark the helix angle 3 and the French front angle
7. And the law after the angle a. Three parameters.

(3) The angle between the front and the base surface measured by the selected point on the cutting edge through the cutting edge.

(4) The angle between the back and the cutting plane measured by the selected point on the cutting edge a.
Front angle y. and the front angle y.

The relationship between the two is:
Tan Y, = Tan Y.cos β

β - the helix angle of the milling cutter, i.e. equivalent to the inclination angle λ. of the cylindrical milling cutter.

The cylindrical cutter has a entering angle of 90° and no secondary entering angle.
