The milling cutter is a multi-edged cutter with multiple cutter teeth distributed on the surface or end face of the rotary body, each cutter is equivalent to a turning tool, and the cutter tooth parameters of the milling cutter are shown in Figure 5-1. Therefore, milling is an intermittent cut, and the workpiece is machined with a milling cutter, which has high production efficiency. There are many types of milling cutters, among which the most commonly used milling cutters on vertical and horizontal CNC milling machines and machining centers are surface milling cutters, end mills, keyway milling cutters and ball nose milling cutters. In addition, some milling cutters that are commonly used on ordinary milling machines can also be used for CNC milling processing.
